turbo/supercharge
is it a bad idea to turbo or supercharge a d16y8?
and y? |
do your research, i wouldn't recommend it for a daily driver, especially on a y8
|
Supercharging is a bad idea because the y8 does not have enough power to efficiently use it.
Turbocharging on the other hand is a good idea if you do the research, and take the time to learn how it works. A turbo would be a bad idea if your going to half ass the project, and not get it properly tuned. |
remember too its going to cost $$$$ lots of it...tuning will be one of the biggest chunks
|
tuning doesn't cost as much as you think.
Unless you buy an expensive standalone and have neetronics spend 10 hours tuning it. Or you could go with a custom made program with crome (street tune/dyno tune) and you will be set at a fraction of the price. I wouldn't supercharge a honda (unless its a 2L or bigger). And do a little research on the oiling issues with d16y8's before deciding on boostin' it or not. |
