To Turbo My B Series Whats All The Parts I Need,,
hey guys im looking to turbo my b series but instead of buying a kit I want to by all the parts i need seperatly and then im just going to pay a shop like Splitfire to install it and custom make all the piping... I want to boost it to no more then 6-8PSI for now... What are all the parts i need to bring to splitfire for them to be able to install it (other then the piping cause they'll make it)... am i missing anything to boost it to like 6-8psi ?
---
Turbo (Preferably BallBearing)
B Series Manifold
Blow-Off Valve
Intercooler
Wastegate
Gauges(Boost, Pyrometer, Air-Fuel)
---
???? is that all ???? like i dont know if i need injecters or fuel managment or anything else right now ?? will that list do for 6-8PSI or do i need more ??
thanks...

maybe walboro in-tank fuel pump, 330cc injectors, Engine management (uberdata, hondata, AEM EMS), Downpipe, dumptube, oil line kit etc etc.
IMO if ur gonna run 6-8 just get a pre-fabed kit and have paul install it for u

for 6-8 psi you should be fine with just a fuel pump like a walboro 255 or something similar
for the turbo, if you want a bb one then i suggest you go with the t28...great response and it performs in the operating range that you want - and when you need it to it will go to 14-16 psi
as for gauges, it is a good idea to have the following when going turbo:
*Boost/Vac
*Water Temp
*Oil Press
*Air/Fuel
*Exhaust temp
*Fuel Press
good luck bud

you will also need oil/water lines for the turbo a tee and some fittings or the golden eagle oil filter adapter plate for a source of oil and a fitting for a return into your oil pan. A bunch of vacuum line, fmu, prolly a check valve or two for the MAP, strong clamps for the charge pipes. And a vafc if its in the budget.
Happy boostin'

whats a FMU ?? fuel managment you mean ??
and how much are check valves ??
thanks

FMU is a Fuel Managment Unit. It basically raises fuel pressure according to boost. You can use different disks for different psi, it operates off vacuum. They are cheap and should be used for at least minimal fuel managment, don't wanna run lean even at 8 psi.
Check valves are very cheap, you get them at a pet store that sells aquariums, just ask they will know what you are looking for. Its a one way valve that lets out vacuum pressure before the MAP sensor can read it. Otherwise your ecu will see boost and go into limp mode. Its just a way of tricking the ecu into not seeing any boost.

or why not do it the right way and screw the FMU and go with a proper engine management setup like i mentioned above and I would just pick up a 3Bar map sensor which is very inexpensive.

engine managment beyond a FMU is a VERY good idea, even if only running very low boost. I was just saying as a bare minimum use a FMU. And there would be no need for check valves if you used a 3 bar map sensor.
Sounds like you are on the right track.

Damn lead the dude in all sorts of direction, yo son the steelo is ya got to ask yourself what you want. First of all an FMU is the ****test piece of equipment to manage your turbocharged motor plain and simple, anyone else that say's different is wrong i don't care how fast they say they are running. Check valves belong with the fish.
6-8 psi setup this is what you get
Turbo t3 flange (ball bearing is better)
Cast manifold( if you plan to drive it everyday seeing how they won't crack)
440cc injectors
Intercooler
Fuel pump (255 walbro)
Blow off Valve
Hondata with boost option, now you don't need to buy a 3 bar map sensor cause the stock honda one will support up to 10 psi with the hondata.
pipes and fittings are the misc stuff you need but don't want to get to into detail on that, once it's all together have Paul at NEETRONICS tune it for you. or someone competent. Prefab kits can be installed by anyone who know's what they are doing, but there is always a better buy if you look hard enough
Gauges are at your discretion really , Boost, fuel pressure and oil are generally what you should get. The others are optional if you want.
