Turbo Kit Prices

K guys the company I work for is considering moving into the Asian import scene currently we import parts for all Euro cars directly from Germany. Now here is the question how much are people willing to pay for a Turbo kit? I mean a complete kit all the fittings, intercooler brand new turbo (not reman) etc etc. Basically you buy this kit and do not have to worry about buying one more thing.

Replys and Suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks Adrian

i would think people would pay anywere from 2000-4000 dollars because u have to remember most of the people of this "scene" are still teens and dont want to dump a whole lot of money at once or some of them cant really afford it.

i was quoted that a kit without the intercooler would cost me anywhere from 2800-3300...then intercooler on top of that bumps the price up even more. Then the install...

and thats when I changed my mind.

I would take into consideration that most people modding cars like this are teens, or early 20's...so if you're able to put out a great deal it would spark a lot of interest, because I know a lot of people want turbo, but just cant afford $4000 for it

So far we are right in that price range of 2500-3000. Our goal is to provide a top quality kit for WD pricing. That's how we deal our Euro parts. High volumes low price. As for quality Garret T3 Turbo (brand new) Kinetics Re-enforced siloicone couplers, T-Clamps, Russel ss braided lines, Cast Manifold (They tend to be better then the custom style ones) etc etc etc. Garret core intercooler.

sounds like a decent deal. what kinda fuel control will you provide? people I find simply aren't willing to put together a large amt of money and dish it out for one mod. that's the reason not too many ppl have swaps, even though swaps are cheaper than turbo.

I think Edelbrock has the most complete kit on the market right? From intake manifold to fuel management.

If you can piece together a complete kit, with the same level of quality and components at a competive price, you are going somewhere.

Yah i would say about $2500-$3500 is reasonable. Got a question though. Im piecing a home-made turbo, and will you be selling turbo parts only in a kit, or can i buy some stuff seperatly?

what kind of fuel management will you include with it?

2500-3000 is very fair, installed or that extra?

We will eventually be selling parts seperately but for now just seeing if we can put a quality kit together and if people think they would buy it.

Emanage w/ all harness would be the fuel management. Installation would be extra.

Are there any e-Manage tuners in Toronto, let along elsewhere in Canada? Because the biggest problem with that system in the US is finding a damn tuner (Greddy locks the software upon sale, only to be unlocked by authorized Greddy tuners).

I am interested in buying a kit but most of these kits always miss something. I would like a kit that is a full kit and not needing you to buy something else later on to make the install work. Like have everything, turbo, manifold, ECU, BOV, whatever. I'm a newbie so it is a essential to have a complete kit.

I would like willing to pay $2800-3500 tops.

Agree. $3000 is like a b16 installed.

If you can put together a decent kit for $2000, you'll have a lot of interest!

you can't even put together a decent $2000 turbo even if you bought used parts. $2000 is way too cheap. Like I said I spent upwards of $4000 on mine.

how is it like getting a new car?
just because the motor "supposedly" has 50000kms (if your refering to jdm motors) doesn't mean it hasn't been put through a lot of stress.

japan doesn't have a highway system like we do, and the generally do a lot more city driving. and as you may or may not know city driving is harder on an engine.

and lets not forget that if you turbo a desries you will have more torque.

But Bdot your starting with a worse motor. And even if you have more torque you also have more torque steer and Worse gearing, Weaker drivetrain part's ect. But this is well documented argument that doesn't need anymore attention. There's Pro's and Con's to each setup.
But back on Topic if a Kit WITH Fuel Management is under $3000 than Id definetly be worried about quality. Ive heard nothing but bad thing's abotu those $2000-$3000 Turbo kit's. I dont' know anything abotu the Greddy EManage but if its not user friendly than its not worth including in your kit. That would **** me off If I installed this kit and I have to get an Authorized Greddy Dude to tune my car?!!!! Talk about a scam. Screw that. Id want a Kit I can get tuned by someone who does Dyno tuning. I think people agree with me they'd spend $4000 on a Turbo kit if it included EVERYTHING!!!!! Including engine management,Intercooler,BOV,ect. And if it came all set up with an External Wastegate it would definetly sweeten the deal.
