Transmission Problem

Hey guys,

This problem isn't on a civic, nor a honda, but maybe you guys could help me out...

In my 94 turbo cavalier (my project car), the tranny has slowly been getting worse up till i stopped driving it on the road and bought my civic. Whats happening is; when my foot is all the way down on the clutch, it is extremely difficult to put it into any gear especially reverse. If you hold the shifter in the right position you can actually hear the gears rubbing and this is with my foot fully on the clutch...also when driving dow the road it is very difficult to impossible to do a fast shift into any gear...down shifting is not a problem as i can rev match easily...

The clutch was replaced last spring and it's a centerforce dual friction performance clutch. when we put the new clutch in we also installed a new clutch cylinder...we had a heck of a time bleeding the new clutch cylinder...

My question is: Has this new clutch already worn out? or could it be I need to re-bleed the clutch cylinder as there may be air in the system?

I need to race this car at the j-body bash on june 3rd so i need this fixed ASAP!

Any help would be great!!!

Thanks,

sounds to me like the clutch is suspect. unfortunately, I've heard nothing but bad things about centerforce clutches on FWD cars.... they seem great for RWD though, I dunno why. try bleeding again, if that fails, then I think it may be time to pull the tranny and inspect the clutch.

Thats what i'm thinking as well, but the shifting has never been 100% since doing the clutch cylinder....

The car is making over 250ft-lbs est. torque at the wheels...(only running 6psi boost right now)

Pretty tough on the clutch i would imagine...:D
