transmission conversion

just wanted to know how much it costs to convert an automatic transmission to a manual one. It is for an accord 96.
Also, if there are any places who do a nice job...please do let me know.
Thanks...

Hey Redfox,

What setup are you running? Are you still running the turbo? What about ecu? The reason I ask is that inorder to do a auto 2 manual conversion, the ecu needs to be changed.

Well, if you're interested in a conversion, drop me an email of PM me.

Lates.

Ken

Hey KS-R, ya still running the turbo. The tranny is holding up fine, but it's real shitty for autocrossing. I know that I need a new ECU have I've been looking. I'll PM you.

I'm using the F-MAX kit. I've the same post on HondaPerformance.ca and Scott also replied. But I think that's a bit pricy still. He also quoted a 2 1/2 day down time. More than what I'm comfortable with. I want someone who's confident that they can finish the job w/i the day.

Do u like to swap it by yourself? it shouldn't be very hard but all u need to have is parts and toolz. The only difficulty i think is the R gear signal. I don't really know how to hook it up with the tail lights. Let me know if u like to do it. I'm interested to help u out.

To hook up the reverse lights you need to run 2 wires from the reverse sensor on the tranny to that clip right if front of the shifter that's left bare after the conversion.... I think it's a green wire and a yellow/grey wire, but i'd have double check. Ken didn't do this for me when he did my swap but i've been driving around for a year now with out it.. so no big deal.

Do you think it is worth it to change from auto to manual tranny on a '99 Integra LS. It is stock and I wanted to change the transmission before I do anything to it. Any suggestions?

How much did it cost for you for the engine and other parts all together?

Scott from Clubsi did mine in milton. $900 for labour to do it, and my engine was $550.

So you converted your tranny for only $1300? That's a good price.

not a good idea

I dont understand why you would even want to convert the transmission. you can sell your accord automatic for soo much more. and with that money you make extra you can buy another 5 speed accord and still have some extra money.
