Transmission Bolt-up problem

Anyone here have any experience connecting the tranny back to the engine?

I have been trying all afternoon/evening, and always end up with about a 6mm gap between the transmission and engine surfaces... If I tie the bolts down, it probably will work, but I dont think it should be tight like that at all? Should it be tight and apart until the bolts are tied down?

Any advice?

I lubed the splines with oil too.

Thanks.

Nope...it should just get together under no tension...you should recheck all your work inside the tranny and they should mate w/o the bolts.

Pull the tranny off and check to see if the clutch is still lined up or not.. Cause wiggling around and trying to get the tranny back on can move the clutch out of place... That's most likely your problem.
