Few days ago I finally had the noise coming from my tranny fixed. I talked to a few mechanics and said it was just the release bearing. After changing the clutch disk and the release bearing my car is still making the same noise, but not as loud and not as frequent. The mechanic told me that its normal for some noise to occur and that it just needed to be broken in..., is this true?

sorta but not exactly, but it should definately be worn in after a week.

when i put my new tranny in, it took about a week for the grinds and squeeks to go away...

the tranny sat for a few months on its way over from JDM land.

What kind of noise is it making? Squeek, crumble, bang?

probably the input shaft

Well..., I hope the bearing just needs to be worn in. As for the noise, its sort of a rattling sound, and hopefully its not the input shaft thats causing it.
