i have the d16z6 engine in my car now..... its old but works good...... the tranny now is in very rough shape.... factory original clutch (230 000kms on it), basically no syncro's in first through third and probably a handful of other problems.... so the obvious thing to do would be buy a newer tranny and get a nice clutch... simple enough but i'm curious if there are any other tranny's that will bolt up to my engine and have shorter gearing.... or how difficult it would be to change the final gear..... i'm basically looking for a little speed without touching the engine..... gas millage isn't an issue i still get over 500 km per tank which dominates most cars out there....

so any help here would be awesome.

I'd like to know too. My clutch is low, but I have a new one to put in. My synchro's are gone in first and second (pain in the a$$)
