tranny flush & fill??

hey I was jsut wondering what I should do. Flush and fill the tranny fluid or just drain it and fill it up? My girl has her civic for about 3 years now... not sure if the previous owner did anything.... but i wanna do this cause it s time to do somthing. it's an auto and when it shifts i can feel it .. not as smooth .. so what should i do?

i would say it depends on what comes out when you drain it.

i did mine about a week ago and the color was like 3 times darker that burnt engine oil, also it came out with alot of metal dust, then i would say to flush it alittle.

service the auto tranny properly with Honda ATF and filter.

Drain the fluid, you have to re and re the tranny to change the filter so I dont reccomend that, there is a draing plug on the bottom, see what comes out, if the fluid is dark then install around 3 liters of new honda fluid, you must use honda, and drain it and re fill it. If the shifts dont get better then you have problems

The 06 and newer civics have an external auto trans filter.
