Tranny fluid for ef civic

just picked up 2L of GM syncromesh just wondering how much is needed for a stock 89 civic tranny??

yup, that is enough...like kwikb16 said, its just a little bit less (like 1.75 litres or something like that)

funny, honda manual tranny fluid is just 10w30 engine oil.

Funny, I heard from a number of independant places that honda MTF is unique. You can get by with 10w30 for a while but you need to change it to honda MTF as soon a possible

Even Can tire will tell you that.

the manual does suggest 10w30, but I believe Honda MTF was developed after that manual was produced, and is compatible with older transmission, infact I think it works better than 10W30, I am running MTF now and its good. The Syncromesh stuff this guy is using is to help with syncro grinds...

10W30 is a suitable substitute for temporary use.

i've been using 10w30 with 25% lucas oil. Seems to be smooth and happy.
