Torque Specs of a D15b7

Hey, I just replaced the headgasket of my d15b7 and I'm having a hard time finding them.. damn google and search functions.

tighten in two steps, first to 22 lb-ft then to 53 lb-ft.

sequence goes:

8 6 2 4 10
--------------->cam gear
9 3 1 5 7
\/
front of car

oh, als make sure you oil the threads of the bolts, AND THAT YOU ARE USING NEW HONDA OEM BOLTS.

reusing the old bolts will result in the HG blowing, cuz the OEM bolts are torque-to-yield.

I have to use new bolts? damnit I was just gonna put in the old ones, they looked ok..

How much are a set of new bolts?

$70 to $100 bux... but it sure beats cracking your block from overtorquing. remember... these are TORQUE TO YIELD, so they stretch when they are properly torqued.... once torqued, they are JUNK. plus from thermal effects, even if you don't crack your block, you'll blow the head gasket again.

This is turning out to be a very expensive fix up job on my civic..

Head gasket, valve job.. new head bolts.. damnit!
