torque mounts
how many of you guys are using the torque mounts with your swap?
I have heard from different sources that if you don't use them the IM could hit the hood from revving. I've also heard that it won't hit the hood.
Anybody know for a fact?

ya, i know some places (not going to mention names, but i know you know who i'm talking about) that would've prolly charged you for that dirt.
Do you like free flywheel/pressure plate bolts too?
I don't hear you complaining about those....lol

not using the torque mounts won't harm anything, and are completely unnecessary if you use aftermarket mounts.
The b20 EG we did for my buddy, using a gsr tranny, didn't use the front tranny mount or the a/c mount and its fine, doesn't hit/rub anything, and the engine is solidly mounted in the engine bay.
Hell, i bet 40% of older hondas have the rubber part of those torque mounts busted anyways, so its like not having them at all. I know on my car the rubber part of the front tranny mount is all broken and its not doing any harm.
Chris, when you put the b20 in, just don't use them and see for yourself. Why spend the money if you might not need to?
