im installing springs on my civic, and i cant seem to get the last nut off on the top hat. i sprayed it down with lubricate and tried heating it up with a torch but nothing seems to be working. if you guys have any ideas of suggestions please let me know thanks

wd40. let it sit for a few minutes then put a johnson bar to it. when you put it back together be sure to use some anti-seize. that stuff is liquid gold if you work on your car yourself a lot.

i assume you mean a propane torch...

just heat it up for a good 2-3 minutes.

are you talking about this nut?

if it's that one I don't know why you would need to heat it up or use a johnson bar. You need to use an impact wrench to take that off otherwise it will just keep spinning. Unless your lucky enough to have a strut that has they allen key thingy so you can hold it in place.

ya, some have the allen key and pretty sure older ones have just a flat piece you can clamp on some visegrips to make it not spin.

yeah, propane sucks for heating things up, ihave an oxy acet setup here. As for the nut, nothing works like an impact gun.

well for the 3 struts i was able to use a allen key with a wrench, but i was able to bring it to a garage to use their impact gun and it worked. thanks for the suggestions
