is this too good to be true?

As 80% of the board probably knows (cuz of my constant bitching) I need to change my front upper control arms. W/ TCC discount they are $220 tax in at Parkway. I went to dufferin/dupont alignment to verify that this was my problem and they referred me to a place that sells aftermarket control arms for my 89dx hatch. So, I decide to call them up today and they say $45 each for one brand and $75 each for the other. Now, should I trust any controls arms that aren't from Honda? Or is Honda just overpriced? I'm really tight on cash so obviously I want these cheaper ones...but I'm afraid they're cheaper in quality to. On the other hand, dufferin/dupont has a really good reputation and they are the ones that recommended them to me? WHAT TO DO OH WHAT TO DO?

being a 89, I imagine any new control arms will outlast the car....

Moog is the preferred aftermarket brand, but I would think in your case anything will do.

I'm buying Honda OEM for my car, but that's cuz I don't do aftermarket replacement parts.

I got rebuild upper control arms (bushings and ball joint replaced) for around that but I had honda OEM rebuilt upper arms .... so they were a bit more but close I say got for it....

most likely the 45 dollar ones are rebuilt and the 75 dollar ones are new

The hoda OEM probably comes with new bushings, maybe bolts or something.. That seems like a pretty big price difference, even for OEM..

for honda i think your just paying for the name or maybe it's a little better but, i'd go for the cheaper one's considering the age of your car and your budget.

the reason the OEM ones are so expensive is cause its new arms, bushings.....it comes as a complete set

this is another way honda rips you off...i just called them and front upper control arm bushings aren't available seperatley, you gotta but the whole control arm. now since energy suspension sells these bushings, im guessing this isn't necessary and its just a way to make more money. GAY.
