Im running them with coilover sleeves... i was impressed with them for a non adjustable, definatly the way to go if your on a budget... I recomend them with a spring tho not a coil, mate them up with some H&R sports, or eibach prokit, and you will be a very happy camper for the price!!

I left my rears on for the winter, and they took allot of abuse, potholes, salt ect.. i just pulled them both out yesterday for a checkup, and they are both still working perfectly no popage:D

Just dont use them to slamm your car, and dont go with a rediculous spring rate.

punkindrublic 30-Mar-2004 04:53 PM

do they also come with a lifetime warrent like the illumina's??

imported_BoOsTd 30-Mar-2004 04:56 PM

same warrenty, as long as you dont lower eccesively, i think they say no more than 2 inches or something

punkindrublic 30-Mar-2004 05:00 PM

haha they didn't specify what "excessive low" is on my warrenty so i understood that race springs are ok  besides if i ever send them in for warrenty how will they know what springs where on?

imported_BoOsTd 30-Mar-2004 05:03 PM

I think they can tell by the ware marks on the plunger shaft

dingus88 30-Mar-2004 05:38 PM

they are a midrange non adjustable shock...better than stock that's forsure...with a pro kit they woudl be nic eI woudl imagine...but once you start to get into "sport springs" liek a h&r that woudl be pushign it on these shocks

I have Tokico HP (blues) with H&R sports. With 13" all-season tires, my car is about 3 inches from the ground! God it looks mean! AND, it handles VERY good. I can take 60Kms ramps at about 90kms with this setup and a bit of technique safely. And the shocks do a very good job absorbing all the pot-holes and other crap off the streets.

For the price and performance, I give the HPs 3 hairy :thumbup:s !!!

so would it be good to use em with a prokit?
and how long should i expecct them to last with a prokit?
i need em to last a couple of yrs (i.e. 5+) without trouble
and even if they **** up, wont warranty cover em?

Tokico Blues

I've been using the blues on my 93 Si for the past three years with Neuspeed Sports relatively trouble free. The rears had to be replaced last year under warranty but for the money not bad. S/t front and rear sway helped alot as well.

civicnation 07-Apr-2004 09:06 AM

the warranty looks good and if they turn otu to be as good as they seem, i'll get a good deal!
