Tire Size Question?

Question Tire Size Question?

We'll..this sucks...i just found out that i need new tires. I had bought out my leased car 'cause i've modified it...so i went for a safety today and found out that the inside of all my tires are bald and one front tire is worn sooo much that the steel belt is coming through the rubber..Shyte!..now i need new tires before they will safty it...i currently have 205/45/16's....i kinda wanted to go with 205/40/16's but have heard that this will screw up my speed and Km'S??? anyone have any info on this subject?? I was thining of getting Yokohama Avid H4's..they're $165 installed..

stay with the proper size - 205 45 16. Otherwise, you car revs higher, it's quicker (acceleration), but slower (top speed). Plus your speedo is off... but that's only 3%, so at 100km/h, you'll be doing 97.

I wouldnt put 205/40's on your rims unless you have really strong rims that can handle pot holes and rough roads...I had 17's with a 40 series profile and I will never go that low again...way to rough and bumpy, plus worry of damaging your rims is always on your mind...
