Will a greater tire size affect the wheel gap? If I get 15" rims and a 2" drop will it be "lower" than a 2" drop on 14"'s?

I heard this is not true but I think it would make a difference

it all depends on what size tire you get. generally when people change wheel sizes they get a tire size that will keep the overall diameter of wheel and tire the same (ie tires on 14's will have a bigger sidewall than the ones on 15's). and unless you want to live with a speedometer and odometer that is inaccurate that is the way to go.

however if you keep size of the tire sidewall constant then you will have less of a wheel gap with 15's compared to 14's.

if yer using say 185/85/14's you'll be looking roughly 65's on a 15 with the same width..
if yer maintaining the same circumference and width then nothing will change

do a search, there's a link to a tire calculator somewhere in here..

mine for instance were 185/65/15 and i went to 215/45/17
circumference is .08% off or thereabouts..minimal..
you'll have to keep an eye out for width as well to make sure you'll clear the fenders..

And that .o8% is nothing......with some good spirited driving, in a week, the difference will be 0% (tire wear)

i have a 2.5 inch drop on 185-60-R14 and no rubbing at all... i think any wider a tire would rub though

You have to really watch the tire sizes. If you run too large, you engine spins faster than it would with stock tires to maintain the same speed.

enter in the stock tire size and the new tire size, and read what the heading says below....it will give you a % based on how slow/fast the wheels are turning.

if you get tires that make the circumferance of the wheel bigger than it was stock, will it cause loss of power or reduction in feul economy??

it'll actually be pretty much the same depending on your driving habits..if you turtle a lot you'll get better mileage, but if yer rabbit off the line you'll lose cuz yer putting more into the pedal to compensate for time to cruising speed..
so ya, loss of power in a sense..
