Tire rubbing on fender....cause?
 

I lowered my coupe on H&R sport springs (about 1.5 yr ago) and left the stock shocks on

it settled a bit now and everytime I make a turn I hear the wheel rub against the fender...

is it my shocks? springs?

I have performance tires....205/45/16

but when I put my winter tires on there....205/55/15 nothing happens....

it shouldn't rub with 16" unless your offset low I believe

I have the same size tire and I don't rub at all. It more than likely has to with the offset of the wheel rather than the tire itself.

probably your offset is wrong...

one solution is... get stffen up your suspension or change rims

your stock struts being blown would cause it to sti low enough to rub as well

The tire sits within the fender...i'm sure when I bought the rims they had the correct offset

So I should change the shocks?

^ if you are so sure then why don't you let us know what the offset is and we will let you know if you're right...

Check your offset... I had the same problem when I went to 205/40/17 running Eibach sportlines on stock shocks... my offset was +40... i ended up getting coilovers which kinda solved the problem... I raised the car so there is a finger and a half gap... it never rubs with just me in the car... but... when I have people in the car it starts to rub again... I don't really wanna go higher, but its something you should think about before spending $$$ on coils or anything... you could also cut out the fender liner, roll your fenders, get a camber kit and go more negative... I would probably advise getting new rims, if not... coils and a camber kit if need be.

my offset is 40

and I just picked up some good koni full coilovers...gotta pop em on Tuesday

my freind had the same problem if looked like the tire was to wide so he went down to a 195/ serious tire instead of the 205 and he has no problem now
