Timing Belt, Water pump change, how to tighten crank pulley bolt?

I plan on, replacing my timing belt and water pump. I plan on using a breaker bar, and turning the engine on, to get the crank pulley bolt off. I'm just wondering whats the best way to tight the bolt when I put it back on, without a heavy duty impact gun. (I have one from canadian tire but I don't think it will tighten it enough.)

impact gun for removing the pulley and i use an impact gun for putting it back on too. just reduce the air pressure so i dont put 300 ft lbs to it.

remove/install with tranny in gear and wheels on ground

Holly crap man!! Don't be cranking the engine with a breaker bar attached!! It could break or slip and smash your car up or worse, some person.

I usually remove the starter motor and stick a big flathead into the flywheel to lock it in place and then break the crank bolt open with a breaker bar and an extension pipe. Use the same method to tighten it back up.

Doing that will just tighten the bolt. So dont do it. Unless you want to see how tight the bolt can go without breaking it, using the tranny as a lock is great, but will only work on a standard tranny

Keep the car on the ground, turn your wheels all the way left and crank it with an impact gun. I'll come off. DO NOT use a breaker bar or Johnson bar or whatever you wanna call it...it will do more damage than good.

Cheers,
Buddah.

honda has a special tool... my buddy made one for us to use, but if you have access to an impact gun, do it. cranking the motor is the worst idea ever!
