Timing Adjustment
my friend asked if i ever got my timing adjusted and i said no....
he said i should......
but he said he thinks that the newer civics autmatically adjust themselves but he doesnt know which ones....
should i get a timing adjustment?
car is a USDM 98 EX with 77000 miles on it

either way, this is unnecessary unless:
a. you have modified your motor and are running on a dyno
b. you have removed your distributor and need to set the base timing
our ECUs have timing curves that the distributor fires on... but for the most part it's a mechanical relationship between the cam and the distributor.... I think you're buddy is thinking of the old points style ignitions that required a little more maintenance. the 7th gen Civics use individual coil packs fired by the ECU, so there is no relationship between the cam and the dizzy, since there IS no dizzy.
