Tightening The Throttle Cable

Tightening The Throttle Cable
Has anyone tightend there throttle cable to allow for complete open throttle? And if so what are the steps required? Also, how hard is it for Honda to see that you have done this on regular maintance schedules?
All opinions appreciated

I don't know what you mean by "allow for complete open throttle" I tightend my throttle cable after the swap to make sure there was no slack. What i did was over tighten until thye idle increased then slowly losened until it was just right.

they got a Do It Yourself guide at 7thgencivic.com
but thats only for 7th gen hondas. I was considering doing it but had a feeling id space out one day and rear end someone due to the added response
here it is

The throttle cable is one of the easiest ways to get a little more response out of our cars.
Honda keeps extra slack in the cable for 'granny' drivers so they don't rear end people! The rest of us on the other hand WANT that extra jump off the line! Here is how...
First get a set of wrenches to fit the two nuts.
Then loosen the locknut enough to when you pull the cable, their is about half as much slack.
Next, tighten the adjusting nut so the cable stays put.
Your all set! All you need to do is make sure the car does not idle any higher once warm.
Enjoy the added throttle response!
I Cant steal there pic so heres the diagram
