ticking sound again

so , the after math of the ticking sound in the b20 was coming form the head...And i ordered the lost motion assembly from honda, the part that holds the cams..the mechanic said to get all 8 to be safe since ill be paying hte same labor...44 which is hondas price times 8. Then, 150 labor...Ticking sound still there....Then i look at my cams cat cams, as i think they mite be the problem, so i ordered a new set of cams, type r...For 300 ticking sound still there...Now, i give up......im out a ton of cash and this ticking is now the sprins that open and close...not the valv springs, apparently they are abour 4 sets of 4 in the moror..Honda wants 400 a set......what the hell do i do...anyone got em or know what im talkin about...how necessary is this problem and should i fix it

You never tried doing a valve adjustment first? That would have been the cheapest fix.

The ticking noise is the sound of the pin being pulled from the grenade and its now rolling around the motor.
