throttle problem

recently did a zc swap. now everytime i start the car is revs like crazy without touching the gas. i checked the throttle cable because i thought it was too tight but it still does it everytime i start. does anyone know what this is from?

imported_redlineracer 01-Aug-2007 12:03 PM

revs up and down constantly????

imported_dr.drew1987 01-Aug-2007 02:11 PM

yeah its strange, after i start itll chug like the idle is too low then redline like crazy so i gotta shut it up. i checked the throttle cable because i was told it was too tight but it didnt help.

do you have any of the connectors (iac, map, or tps) swaped around

imported_dr.drew1987 01-Aug-2007 07:27 PM

no everything is connected to the proper plugs. would something in the throttle body mess up to make this happen, such as a bad TPS?

brianmcgaugh 01-Aug-2007 10:09 PM

You sure on the connectors?

tps&map = same connector
iat&iacv = same connector

what rpms are we talking here?

imported_dr.drew1987 01-Aug-2007 11:21 PM

we're talking 7-8 K.

imported_janz3n 02-Aug-2007 06:48 AM

sounds l ike tps problems.

imported_dr.drew1987 02-Aug-2007 03:25 PM

i thought it was that but wouldnt it do it all the time if that was messed?

bbarbulo 07-Aug-2007 12:16 AM

i dunno, I thought the car can't just rev up on it's own with the throttle plate being closed due to lack of air. so it's either the IACV letting in too much air, or the engine has a major manifold leak.

imported_dr.drew1987 08-Aug-2007 09:48 PM

thanks bbarbulo ill check into the IACV i know i had an extra hose after the dohc zc swap on my charcoal canister would that have anything to do with it?
