throttle body compatibility and upgrade question

will an ITR throttle body bolt on to a b16a2 IM? Reason why i am asking is the throttle on the stock tb is sticking and mechanic has done everything to try to fix it and it still does it so i might as well get a new one while i have the IM off to replace the IM gasket. Any benefit to getting an itr throttle body on a stock b16a2 IM (that is if it can be bolted on).

TB opening is larger on ITR, and it is a bolt on.

More air into the plenum, but you need to port match the plenum opening.

yes, but you will need to port the opening of the plenum to accomodate the 62mm bore throttle body, otherwise there will be little to no gain. For the price of an ITR throttle body, you'd be better off just buying another b16 one and boring it out to 64mm, make sure a new 64mm throttle plate is used and they don't just taper bore it to 64mm, u don't want that. Then once you get your 64mm b16 t/b back sell the one thats on your car to recover the cost of the new t/b. People charge out the a$$ for ITR parts, you can have your t/b bored properly for under $200.
But **** you can use a d-series t/b, any b-series or even an H22 throttle body on your b16. Just make sure that it either does or doesn't have the FITV on it, however yours is. Some times the FITV is on the manifold instead of the t/b.

a little more throttle response and top end power. Combined with a good intake manifold and SRI/CAI of your choice will make for a good breathing beast, but the header and exhaust need to be up to par in order to see good gains with a bigger t/b.

Goosesh1t:
is that taper bored or bored to 64mm through out the whole t/b and a new 64mm throttle plate?
Thats a good price if it includes a new plate and everything.
