Throttle Body Cleaning?

How do i clean the throttle body?
Chemicals needed?
Process of doing it?

I was told to spray some throttle body cleaner into the throttle body when the car is idling (true or false)?

Is throttle body cleaner the same as carburator cleaner?

Buy "throttle body cleaner" it's next to the "carburator cleaner" at crappy tire.

I just open the butterfly without the motor running, spray a bit inside, scrub with an old toothbrush, wipe excess grit with a clean cloth, run the motor, spray into the throttle body, and rev the crap out for a minute.

Works for me... been doing this for a few years now. hope this helps.

its not really a big deal... if theres enuff dirt to need a toothbrush, your in trouble. just take the tintake off, spry inside and the linkage, fire it up, start spraying in the TB and keep it idling or slightly higher and it will be clean

I like to clean my every 2nd oil change because it gets pretty dirty. I drive a lot. But I find it helps my engine, more responsive and idles better. Its a few bucks and keeps it clean, might as well.

Not that hard to do .. I bought the generic brand crom C.Tire basically you just take off the intake.... Turn the engine on, and spray it in the Thottle Body while reving it a bit.... You'll see a bit of thick echaust come out the tail pipe, but that's normal. I notice some better throttle response, but mostly I think it was all in my head It was fairly clean to begin with anyway..... If you want to feel a real difference, use seafoam

Get a spray bottle, use water and spray lightly into the throttle body.
