throttle body

Hello all,

I need to replace the throttle body on my 96 LX civic (sensor is dead) a new one from honda is about $800, is there anything after market I can purchase that will fit and includes a new sensor ?

Any information would help

which sensor is it? If its the throttle position sensor (TPS) you can drill the rivets holding the TPS to the throttle body off and screw on another (used) TPS.
Or just buy another used throttle body with working sensors. Can probably pick one up pretty cheap too.

I have already purchased another used throttle body, the sensor was not working

Are you certain it's the sensor and not a wiring issue?
Did you check to see that there was a good 5V reference, good ground and a good signal back to the ECU?

yeah check continuity (spelling??) to the ecu. Your TPS and MAP sensors don't normally go for no reason. You may just be out of calibration.
