For those with swaps..........
When you got your swap, did you have the motor rebuilt? I was reading on hondaswap, that all swaps should at very least have compression checked and internals looked at to see what conditon everything is in, cause you dont know how bad the engine was pushed by the owner before.

Just have the shop check compression and leakdown before buying. You don't need to have it rebuilt before installation. Also, you should buy from reputable places. My cousin's supplier has an excellent track record and always provides good motors. I know some other local suppliers, some of whom sell on the local message boards, that have sold bad motors as well.

Yeah well I guess thats where I have an advantage over you sean LOL ..... he did all my suspension work and my exhaust he seems to be pretty nice to me ...... but thats a lot of places ... they don't have the time of day unless they know you have money to spend.
Thats besides the point ..... he knows what he's doing but I just want to know through the "grapevine" if there has been any problems with him.

I had problem with that Optional when I was having my old swap, gave me a GS tranny instead of SiR, use my old P28 instead of P30, didn't tune the A/F at least make sure my swap is runable, my car died on a intersect a week after the swap done because too much fuel, so many little problems and the engines sucks, now I goto my friend's shop and got my ITR swap, nice and clean

oh and to remotely stick to this thread, get a compression and leakdown test before the motor is dropped in that's the best you can really do because visually you can't do much since things can be cleaned (unless something is broken within intial eye inspection)

Yep, that's Dave. He worked for Optional briefly and worked with Ultimate Racing/Leitner & Bush as well. Pricing will depend on what you want done. Just call Dave, and he can provide you with all of the info.
