THinking of going to a carb conversion, but have ignition question.

Ok im thinking of going to a weber carb converison. 2 DCOE 45 MM. THe only problem im having, is what do i do about the ignition.?? I would like to do away with the ECU if possibel and try to go back to a point or early electronic distributor. I was thinking a ealrier CRX dist, or the carbed integra form a numebr of years back. Just basically asking opinions , so if you ahve one , and think it can help me out on my prob, give em a shout.

Oh and i dont want to hear about how carbs suck ok , or that FI is way better, thats not what im asking, i just wanna knwo about the distributor/ignition problem.

THANKS

Interesting... sounds doable to me... Electromotive has your answer. Check them out. Also MSD old skool systems can be used, but I think Electromotive by far has the fattest solution out there. May I ask why you are doing this?? Is it for the cool factor? My Samurai is carbed, it's sooo bad ***. And our 1982 Civic 1500 S was carbed, that was way cool... so was my 1984 Accord. I love carbs

Well as nice as the TEC II and III are they are way too expensive for my wallet, looks like im gonna have to machine my own distributor setup , and use my 88 crx dist housing. AS for why im doing this , I was raised on carbs, and multiple carbs. MY buddy has a Weber RX7, another friend has an escort with webers. His dad has a Triumph TR6 with webers. I think a civic with 2 DCOE side drafts would be a nice hting to see at the local cruise nights, and maybe the TCC cruises as well. Ill have to look at it , adn see what i can machine up for a shaft and housing, maybe .......

Why dont you just get a 1st Gen CRX?
Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier in the long run?

Get a vaccuum advance distributor from a '84-'86 civic/crx. Might take some simple machining to fit. No biggie.
