test pipe?

test pipe?

hey, what is a test pipe? same as a high-flow catalytic converter?

I have a ractive axle back exhaust right now and was considering getting some headers and a high-flow cat together for my 96 hatch.

I think I might need the mid-piping then? Cause it will probably be bigger than my stock piping I think?

Any answers would be awesome.

'Sup!

A test pipe is basicly a hollow pipe that has NOTHING in side of it. (straight pipe) and a hi-flow converter still has all the pollution reducing materials inside of it, but flows better than stock.

Now if you're considering a header on your CX hatch there are a few things you have to consider; you stock catyltic converter is built into your exhaust manifold (header; it's all one piece) so if you intall a header then you'll be eliminating your stock converter.

Sooooooo you'll need to install a catalytic converter underneath your car, which you might as well replace the stock mid-pipe with something bigger and that flows better.

OH BTW; if you're saving for a GS-R swap, don't bother getting a header for your stock SOHC motor because it WON'T fit a DOHC b-series motor.
