TEIN vs H&R
I am looking to buy springs for my 99 SIR
I don't go racing or anything, therefore I just need something that will give me a nice look and nice ride. Also, I am planning to have these on stock shocks and 16" rims in the future, but for now on stock sir wheels So It came down to TEIN s tech and H&R springs. I hear TEINS lower 1.9" front and 1.7" rear and H&R lower 1.75" front and 1.5" rear So what should I go for, and are those number correct? Advantages/Disadvantages Would there be any issues with rubbing/camber? Thanks |
I say go with the tein s tech springs they si a bit lower and i doubt there will be any issues with rubbing , jus get teh correct tire size
|
I have TEIN's and they only lowered my car 1.3"
The ride is amazing. |
TEIN :D

I went through the same dilemma asking the same question. In the end, I trusted a german suspension component over a japanese one. I'm very happy with my H&R's. |
:dito:
tein my buddy has them on his sir, and nothing but good feedback about em |
DJTre >> Does he have any pics posted of his car.
I think I'll probably go with TEIN. |
nah, he's not a member on this site.
I'll look for a pic of an sir riding on teins though. |
click me
click on the "photo front', 'photo rear', 'photo side' to view pics of them on civics. I didn't get a chance to look through the pics, but there may be a pic of them on an sir, not sure. |

it needs to be lower..can u really lower it that much though?? it says that you can lower tein's 1.8 front 1.7 rear
springs don't have a good drop height like coils..but u get a stiffer ride... |
Looks good to me!
|
OK but the thing is when you comapre let's say front lowering height in both TEIN and H&R
so it's 1.9" vs. 1.75" ... thats only .150" difference...I mean is this even noticable???? Therefore, I don't think there is much difference in what the car will look like when lowered with either spring....the difference I wanna know is in quality, performance, and I also heard TEINs were designed to work with stock shocks....if thats true, why are they softer than H&R ... shouldn't stiffer springs be more forgiving on the shocks????? |
torrey said he only got 1.3 out of his...i dunno if thas the height he wanted or if that is the max height...
u r planning on getting the s-tech right?? |
Yes planning but H&R seems more attractive...german engineering lol
|
the lower the better baby!!!!!....... but yup.... i have h&r springs... the ride is great.... but im thinking about tein flex suspension.... :leafs:
