tein SS
i know its to late to ask this because i'm getting them put in today but
What do you guys think of teins SS and how much will it cost to but in my car 4drex and how much should i have paid for them..i feel i might have got ripped on them |
I paid $1,800 plus tax for the SS with the pillowball mounts. plus another $399 for a full camber kit. $79 for an alignment, and $60 for install. It also took me about 5 weeks to find the height and dampening I liked. Luckily the shop I had put them in charged me nothing for height adjustability.
I like them alot. Still a fairly comfortable ride, but alot stiffer even compared to Prelude springs and shocks. |
$60 to put in and free adjustment???? you're getting hooked up big time. adjustment is such a pain in the arse, the threads are so fine on it that you can sit there and play with the wrench for 20 minutes before it actually looks like it's moved.
labour should be about $100 to install, prolly more since your rear bolts will likely be seized, so they'll break off in the bushing, so your rear bushings will have to be replaced too. |
So that's what you meant by adjustment. I was like "why would you pay anyone to adjust the dampening in the first place?"
Good to hear you got everything worked out and they ride nicely for you, michelle. 4drEx: You should know better than to ask these questions now. |

some people find these Tein's to be a bit on the soft side in terms of spring rates...anyone have that problem under hard driving (auto-x, track..)?
adjustment on the Tein's are MUCH easier than the previous H&R Coilovers that i had. the H&R ones are ultra fine and get seized easily...i've got the Tein HA's myself and find them to be quite stiff! |
