tein s tech springs

tien s tech springs...any good?

i just wanna lower my daily driver hatch a touch and use stock shocks for now (nothing too nuts, till i finish the del sol build..ALMOST DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!)

safe on stock struts? 1.8" drop..camber issues?

imported_honda1b6a 25-Mar-2007 11:01 PM

i have sportlines same amount of drop and i def have camber issuses on my crx.. Have no knowledge on the s techs tho

imported_SaYjAiBaO 26-Mar-2007 12:01 AM

are u sure u have camber issues or toe issues? a 1.8 drop shouldn't give you camber problems. however, once you drop it and get some negative camber it will throw your toe off.

i havnt dropped it yet...

i will be. i just wanna make sure it's not gonna chew through tires and ruin my car. it is my daily driver.

I ran the tein s techs for a bit. They did the job, but this wasn't on stock struts.

I dont see you having any problems though.

i have them on my stock struts....im sittin on 270,000kms on the struts which really what im sayin they are shot...if ur struts are in good shape they shud be ok but if theres alot of miles on them u will have a crappy ride. i'd still do it anyways

imported_SilverSleeper 26-Mar-2007 02:37 PM

I have them on my civic. They are soft enough that they shouldn't be a problem with stock struts.

you will definitely have camber on the rear with that much a drop...and perhaps a very little bit in the front. typically...once you go over 1.5", you can clearly see the inward tilt on the rear wheels. the camber washer trick will do the job.

s tech springs are nice and give a decent drop on EKs....im not sure if using them on stock shocks is a good idea. thats the cheap way of modding your suspension. there is tons of information on this in the performance section if you wanna do your research.

lastly...do a bit of research on teins and the rust issue. if they are used and old, they might rust but not everyone faces this so research is key.

no, they are new...

it's not something i plan on running forever. but with my del sol build eating my budget, i just wanna clean this car up a bit enuff for daily driving.

since my suspension is apart, i'll prolly do the washer trick in the back. hopefully the front doesnt need a camber adjustment :\

here's to hoping (i got the fronts done tonight, and the front brakes... rear brakes are done, gotta finish the rear struts)

I run them on my 93 Si, they are very close to stock spring rate, very nice ride. I have them on Koni reds up front and stockers in the rear. Just make sure to have the car aligned after installing lowering springs, camber wear is actually a toe issue.
