Tein or JIC
Whats the cheapest I can get these coilovers for?
Basic model for both, bottom line. ? |
Tein, I believe the BASIC DAMPER series is available now.
i don't know the prices in CDN for this, but maybe around 1k- 1200 out the door? or you can get the SS (Super Street) dampers. but i think HA's are even better and are about the same price.. these should be around $1500 out the door. JIC is even more expensive, because of more dampening and rate adjustability, comparable to the Tein RA's I think... Kennedy HiFi quoted me 3K for JIC set for my Integra. check out www.psychotic-racing.com or www.speedstate.com or contact SW20_MR2 for great prices. |
JIC is some hardcore ****, but for the same prices as JIC, I'd probably get a set of Zeal S6's or something in the Zeal lineup.... :nods:
Tein is good for daily/occasional track usage IMO. Tein HA's are as far as I'd go for street, anything above that would be overkill unless you're a hardcore autocrosser/road racer :nods: You have lots of other alternatives if you're looking for lowest line Japanese suspension setups such as Cusco Comp S and Zero-1, GAB sports, Mugen lowdowns (I don't think they're that expensive), Zeal B2's etc. the list goes on :p keep looking, but remember, lower modelled suspension systems like Cusco, or Tein do not have an aluminum shock housing so it will be prone to rust, but just keep in clean in winter or take them things off during winter :p |
I have pricing for all of the systems at the shop. If you need pricing, just email me:
kevin@speedstate.com :) |
Fightex or Ohlins

This aragosta?? :D Hard core race equip't, but best for motorcycles. They do make rally and other race susp though, as evidenced by the above photo. Only thing is... good luck servicing it. |
I only saw it in an Options magazine and all I know is u get to build it by sending specs to them :p
http://www.tpl.co.jp/aragosta/image/arg-shock.jpg looks like a different Aragosta? :p |
Ya, not bad... if you know what you're doing suspensionwise. Actually, I have a great deal of respect for all West/North European dampeners (Bilstein, Koni, Eibach, Ohlins... etc)... I think steel, chocolate, cheeze, and dampeners are the only things those bastards know how to make :p
