Talon turbo on a civic?

Hey guys
I've been hearing all sorts of things about tha Talon turbo and civics, so hopefully somebody knows the truth and can help me out. I need to know can a Talon manifold or turbo fit onto a D series motor? Thanks :bling:

you can use the talon turbo but the manifold will not fit get a hf manifold and adapter plate

hf manifold = high flow manifold?

89SIHATCH? 23-May-2006 12:46 PM

no its what they call it. comes on some of the std civics and or hf CRX .
very commonly used on todays civic d-series turbo setups.
can find one for around $40-$75 most of the time there being sold for $50 but some times you run into alot of people who think there GOLD.

but yes pretty much any turbo can be put on the car if you have the proper exhaust manifold w/ adapter plate.

Thanks man you helped me out alot.

Is it a straight bolt on? Will i need a front mount intercooler?

imported_2join performance 23-May-2006 01:52 PM

The manifold is a straight bolt on to any d-series motor, and if you have an adapter plate then the turbo will be a direct bolt on to the manifold.
You dont NEED an intercooler, but its highly suggested you run one. You can run a small sidemount if the FMIc is a problem.

i got a perfect turbo kit for you buddy:D

1300$ for everything..

you need to do alot more research about it though. But any turbo can work.. no other manifold can work off another car. And you'll need a different downpipe.

^^^^^ Chris si98 is right - dont think you can slap this and that, research is your key..

homemadeturbo.com and use the search button... they will flame you if u do not search!

im building up my parts slowly, so make sure u know what ur getting into... the last thing u want is to Cry when things dont work out.. ahahah <-- that would suck large!

goodluck with your build!

if you have all the stuff mostly manifold turbo and adapter plate thats all bolt on.

you still have to get the down pipe welded up, tap oil line from turbo into oil pan, tune ecu. there is a bunch of stuff you should research about, just so you dont get scammed and ****ed around by idiots.

make sure you do your research BEFORE you buy a single thing.

i sent ya a pm, good luck with your project.

thanks guys for all your help and don't worry i've done my research. Its actually for my girl. I have a turbocharged 240 sx, so i know a bit about turbos and things like that but i still have my civic. It was just that I was hearing contradicting points about the d-series turbo and talons. So i just wanted to be sure before i let her know that it can be done. So again guys good looking out and thanks for the help.:bling: :bling:
