Well considering there will be alot of melting snow, slush, and water on the roads that you risk sucking in, I'd take it off.

you arnt hurting anything..

hydrolocking is only if you submerge the whole filter in water and all it can suck up is water, so unless you go scuba divign your fine

Well, I'm sure AEM makes those bypass valves for a reason. And you never know...last winter i ended up going under a bridge that had like 2.5 feet of flooded water pop up out of nowhere and my car went a little crazy for a few minutes.

Keep your fender liner in place. You will be fine.

99% of people who hydrolock are the ones who slammed their cars so low that they had to remove fender liners and guess what, your air filter is exposed to air and will suck in water that much easier.

I wouldn't worry about water in winter, as they all get forzen anyway. If anything, worry about it next year when it melts.

I take mine off in the winter just because it gets so dirty with all the driving I do.

I hit a puddle that was to the top of my wheels .... no issues ....then again I had a by pass valve...

salt dust in air filter = I hate it when I get those salt stains on the bottom of my pants, last thing I want would be to get those on the air filter.

i think i'll be leaving mine, but thats beside the point....you said you cars been running like **** because of the cold weather...?....its a cold air intake cold air is what you want, i don't see how colder air could make your car run ****ier by way of your intake...maybe the engine asa whole doesn't like the cold air, but your intake does
