Talking Tailpipe Flamethrower!!!!

This might be interesting....

Has anyone ever seen this in real life on a fuel injected engine? I assume you need to do it without the cat converter, and some sort of pulsateing spark pluggs in the exhaust pipe. Possibly a fuel injector in the pipe, if your car doesnt produce much extra fuel.... Apaarently 3-6 foot flames are possible without the use of injectors!

That would be the ultimate show thing, flames out the tail, nitrous purge out the front, Damn that would be intimidateing to see, I sure as hell wouldnt race the guy ...LOL

yea can't do it with a cat....and if u do this to ur engine its not good..cause u are esencially sending raw fuel through ur engine....better to have a reserve tank with spark plug at end of pipe....old school cars do it by by passing combustion and sending raw fuel through engine

It's not possible...my friend tried it. You need a special setup and not just a home made setup

Nope........what actualy happens is that on the 3 cars that are in my other car club, they do this.....

They have a second coil with a spark plug in the tip of the muffler. Not sure how far in or out of the tail pipe it has to be.

They have a switch that they hit after they rev the engine and let of the gas pedal.

They hit the switch, and the factory coil is temporaraly replaced by the one that is connected to the spark plug in the tail pipe. The unspent gas runs through the engine, and comes out the back, then the plug ignites it. Then they releases the switch, and the factory coil is reingaged.

It's takes some practice/timming to get a good flame/fireball out the back.

I'll see if I can bring my camera next friday, and I'll film it for you guys.

By the way, I've taken apart that "magic" box, and the thing has like 5-6 parts in it, that only cost around $5-$10 to buy.

It's the coil/plug/plug wire that cost's the $$'s, not the box.

another way to do it would be to use a propane tank. Hook up the tank to the tailpipe......hold the revs high, hit the switch to inject the propane into the tailpipe.....the coil also tuns on at th same time, and presto....the spark plug ignites the propane, and it looks like this.....

Just make sure you don't let up on the gas pedal, or else you'll get a backfire.

Been there......seen it......heard it.....

With this kind of setup, you can get much longer flames, and more time per flame. (I've seen a guy hold it for around 10 seconds.....the guy was nuts.......he left a nice discolouration on the paint of his back bumper.)

With the other setup, you'll be lucky to get 1-2 seconds......if that.

i like it lol
i dun usually like rice, ubtr its cool
use a shift **** with the momentary button on top for solonid on the propane and have it inject propane and spark at the same time, i will try this by welding bungs for a spark plug and propane in the last 3' of tailpipe

What have I done.

I can see the headlines now.

A driver today burned down his house after he autostarted his car while it was in the garage. The driver had forgotten that a saftey switch had been turned off on his homemade flamethower. When reporters asked why he would forget such a thing, his only answer was..."Huh.....I thought it was cool dude."

Play with fire, you're liable to get burned.

its easy to make
my dad was doing stupid **** like that when he was my age

just drill a hole big enough for a spark plug
put the spark plug in it
hook up some sort of MSD iginition to a switch and your distributor. and WOW FAKE NOS

they even show you how to do it on Speed Channel

looked really easy

the flame comes cause you car doesn't burn all the gas that goes threw the motor. so even by using that spark plug at the end you car burnin the rest of the unused gas

my friend with his '87 carb'd crx was able to shoot two flames

i know he doesnt have a plug in his exhaust or anything.. no tricks basicly

he is running no cat or resonator, and the thing backfires lots.. its kinda funny, but ****, if you ever heard the sound they make, its pretty scary. louder than a cherry bomb. and they are just little pops about 1 ft in length that last less than a second
