T-Top, Sleeve, Block Guard??

T-Top, Sleeve, Block Guard??

Ok I know what sleeving is and i know what adding a block guard is but whats T-Topping?? Friend of mine said he's getting his motor built and getting it T-topped... what is this?? similar to sleeving and adding a block guard?? if so whats the difference??

k thanks.... so out of those three "T-Top, Sleeve, Block Guard" which is the most expensive... like can you put them in order from cheapest to most expensive if you get a chance.... thanks...

1) regular sleeves
2) sleeves and blockguard
3) t-topping

that would be my guess, but if your going through all this trouble just do it right the first time. t-top it.

blockguard is cheapest, as it's just an insert that goes into your water jacket basically.

then sleeves... and t-tops are just slightly more expensive.

yeah, usually when you sleeve a block there should be no need for a block guard as the sleeves are thicker than stock or atlast thats what ive read.

1)Block Guard ($500-600 with install i believe)
2)Sleeves ($1000?)
3)T-Top Sleeves ($1500?)

i was close:P. Ive heard alot of people have problems with blockguards cause it puts the stock sleeves out of round etc.

There's also fans of 'pinning' the block, which is putting bolts though the water jacket halfway up the cylinder to keep things in place.

Then Golden eagle uses those tabs that are similar to a T-Top, but slightly lower and lets the coolant hit the top of the cylinder walls.

if u wanna run big boost, u gotta build the bottom end which is what i am assuming he wants to do, which would be why he asking these questions. and my friend u gotta pay to play.
