synthetic or not????

going to go to synthectic as i just bought a new car and i want it perfect............any cons of synthetic other then the price??? and what do i have to do, to do the switch over????

imported_alwaysoverkill 20-Apr-2005 02:24 AM

just buy the synthetic and dump it in....voila, switched over. all that switchover **** is a myth. its oil only slippery as hell and allows more milage on oil changes.

i recommend amsoil or mobil 1 if your still looking for brands. amsoil is good **** and what i use. allows 10k between oil changes, but i'm gonna do it every 8k to be on the safe side.

If you've got a honda and plan to do the oil change yourself, just make sure you get yourself one of those OEM "crushable" washers for the drain plug. When you tighten it, it'll actually compress the washer to seal it up good. Reusing the old one can potentially damage your honda's crappy/weak oil pan threads.
