swaybar question

I'm looking at purchasing a GS-R rear swaybar for my EK Si, and I have a couple of questions I hope someone can answer. The bar comes with the brackets, but no endlinks.

1. Will the GS-R bar fit on an EK without modifications? I have read mostly yes, but a few no's too on ClubSi.
2. What endlinks will I need to buy, GS-R or SiR? It's an Integra bar, but going onto a Civic. Prices and part#'s would help.
3. Does anyone have this mod? How do you like it?

Thanks
Mike

Accodring to a friend I know the ITR will fit. So, I think that it would fit, assuming you have all the stuff. Have you bought the sway? I can't tell from your post. If not, then why not go for a SIR, that would fit.

The price is right, and there are no SiR swaybars for sale that I can find. The Beaks website has a parts listing which lists everything needed for the installation. I doubt I'll need the reinforcement kit, it's for a Type-R swaybar.

Mike I just picke up a GSR rear lower sway bar for my EG (93 si).
I got it for $50 and it came with the endlinks....it should come with the endlinks...if it doesn't don't pay more than $40. I don't know exactly what the price of endlinks are, at $10 saving should cover it.

I also picked up all the OEM Acura hardware needed to install them....I still have all the part #'s too. The total was $42 (that's the discounted price that I got from CivicSiR4U2NV.

As far as the fit to your EK....as long as you have the corrcect lower control arms, you should be fine.

I had to buy new LCA's for my car. The stock LCA on my EG weren't compatible.

My LCA's look like they have the holes in them, but thats why I posted the questions, just to make sure. The endlinks are the most expensive parts I think.

My GSR LCA's have 6 holes on them (counting left to right).

Mike, I sent you a PM answering your questions... all 6th gens have swaybar mounting points. You'll just have to order an SiR swaybar for the rear or follow the instructions to put on an ITR bar if you want the larger one.

The bar physically fits, I know cuz I had it bolted up. The GSR endlinks are needed and I didn't have those. I happened to have another bar that was an SiR bar, so I used that instead.

How big does the diameter of the bar have to be before tearing?

people have found that even an ITR bar will rear the EK subframe. Sticky tires and a stiff susp will put a lot of stress on that part of the frame. Note please that CTRs in Japan acutally use thicker material for the entire body than the USDM counterparts. THis is why our cars need to be reinforced before stepping up to anything bigger than a 14 or 17 mm bar. 19s and 22s will generally need to be reinforced.
