sway bars and physics class
ok guys,
I've started planing next years step already, (basically because if I win the lottery I might start early )
anyways I'm planing on different tires which will then give me a point to play with in autocross. Well the point can be used to either add a front or rear sway bar (as one of the the options) (but not both) now the guys in the states are free to make changes to their front bars and not their rear bars (if they have them) my car is currently very neutral in handling (doesn't under or oversteer unless I tell it to with the controls) I'm wonder which would work better. from my experience (and what most of the Canadian Autocrossers say) going with a big rear bar ould be better then a front bar. however I can't ignore the effect a front bar had on the winner of my class this year at the nationals (a dude form the states) I also know the majority of the wieght is up front at turn in point (since I'll have finished the braking at that point putting more wieght on the front wheels) which leads me to believe that this might create way less body roll at turn in and allow me to therefore carry more speed into the turn.
anyone care to comment on the physics of sway bars and which would be better for my autocross application

doesn't your car have a front sway bar now? maybe it was only the Si that got front sway bar..
you should be able to put a stock front sway bar and stay within rules cause your car could have come with it... kinda makes it unfair if i was racing against you in the same class you know
as for physics i'd think you would want the front one and no rear as opposed to no front and a rear bar

My LX has no bars either, Rick, you can't compete in the same class as Jason to begin with. Vtec Civics start in a different class than ours.
I have GSR front and rear bars for my car, just not in yet. I have a lot more points to play around with than Jason. Jason, some of the HADA guys have been telling me not to even bother with the front one...

man thats rough... well i'd imagine you'd want a front only rather then rear only... but heck try them both out
having only a rear bar and no front might make your car rotate even better or make it an oversteering mess to drive

Its not good to have both front and rear sway bars? I thought both was good. The Eibach Anti-Roll kit Im looking at for my DX (no sway bars) has both bars. Anyways just wanted to know but im most likely gonna get both...lol

yes punk is right only one bar for my class if I could I'd do both and switch classes... but I really want to stay away from FSS
anyways... I haven't seen many options other then a rear to help the car rotate.. thing is the car already rotates great....
