Swapping Auto Motors

this is the stupidest thing i ever heard of...but someone asked me to find out so here it goes

my freind just bought an auto civic hatch, now he wants more power but his parents may need to drive it in an emergency or somthing, and they dont know how to drive stick (so conversion not an option), and his dad is the type who tries to do something even tho he doesent know how, meaning he would screw up his tranny by not knowing how to drive manual properly, but still trying.

so is it possible to swap an auto motors between different cars? and if so whats needed/ special steps

i dont know what engine he wants to swap in, but i dont think vtec would help much since he cant really rev high in any particular gear, but its up to him.

haha.... this is quite a hilarious story though, no offense
i thought this is like chit-chat joke of the day....

doesn't your friend's parents have a car? or its only your friend who can actually afford a car in the family? this is odd... if my family cannot afford a car, it has a slimmer chance that i can haha... although its possible =)

well the only auto motor that can give your friend some fun is a b18b with auto transmission........ hahaha.... or tell your friend to give his dad manual lessons...

everyone in his family has a car, but in the event that one of the other cars goes in the shop or has mechanical problems they will use his car.

LS and GSR came in auto - BUT the tranny side frame rail on an Auto integra is specially shaped to accomodate the larger auto trans. To make it fit you'll need to clearence the passenger's side frame rail - A LOT, or graft in the integra Auto tranny frame rail.

i think you can find a b16 with auto tranny as well, i have seen them before.

like it was said on here before u can use an auto tranny out of a integra and any b-serius motor will work and just use a after markt torqe converter and it will get ride off all the crapy low rev shifting

tell your friend to forget about the hassle to for an automatic b-series....

if an emergency does happen like the family cars gone for repairing or some sort... tell your friend to get his parents to rent a car for like a day or two... if its his car (he afford it himself), he has the rights to refuse the car to be driven by someone else, but as a son, he shouldn't be that rude... maybe he can like give his parents like 20-30$ as some support in a car rental...

i know my family doesn't touch my car when their car is in the autoshop... because my car is my car... i rather give them a ride or lend them some $$ to rent a car...
