about 2 grand extra then what it would cost a k20.
need different mounts, oil pan, etc etc....

(then again it all depends on the parts you get)

the problem with a k series is that its not a bolt on type of item. by the time you actually have the motor into the car almost everything but the tranny and block itself are changed ie. ecu, mounts, linkage, axels, etc.....

if you plan on just swapping the motor in and having it run this swap is definately not for you because you will end up spending tons of time taking the bus and not using your car since she will be out of service almost every other day.

the best thing imo is to get all the parts needed for the swap from axels to lines and make sure that they are all quality items and dont try to save a buck here and there cuz you will end up spending two dollars for every dollar later. then get the motor.
that way you will not see a large hole in your wallet.

however if money isnt an issue you shouldnt even have to ask this question just take it to a shop dump the money and be done with it

i guess you never heard of www.k20a.org? i'm seriously looking at doing a k24 swap into my car too but still i can't find nearly enough info on it as to the k20 swap threads. like TR said, get everything you need first and get the good stuff rather than the ****ty stuff because it will just come back and bite you back in the *** in the end. my only concern in regards to this swap is how low my oil pan will hang and how low can i drop my car. i'm dropped 1.75 but want to go .25 inches lower. i've seen k24 swapped egs and the oil pan is damn low. if you can do it yourself, DO IT. if not, i don't think you should spend the $$ to get it done because i heard splitfire charges 5000 bucks alone on labour. it's a **** load of custom work. the only reason why i consider doing this is because i wanted to get a swap done at my co op shop and they just told me to go k and get everything done there for free so all i gotta do is pay for the parts . k24s go for cheaper than k20s anyone don't they? i saw one in classifieds for 2000 but i don't think that's a legit price because that's really cheap, it's probably hot or something. going from stock sohc 1.5L to DOHC 2.4L I-VTEC would be awesome . parts alone are what? 2500? axles 400-600 bucks, harness 400 bucks, mounts 600 bucks, accord linkage $$??, what else?

im pretty sure the K24 oil pan is a couple inches shorter than the K20 oil pan. Also the K20 pan is more prone to cracking if hit whereas the K24 pan tends to dent rather than crack if hit.

i'm not sure on the sizes of the oil pans but all i know is that i haven't seen enough k24 egs to know what the clearance would be like.

well you will need something.
either that or get keys to be able to operate the motor.
i think you will need the immobalizer unit that surrounds the ignition column aswell.

or something along those lines..

this is why the jdm motors are the best since they are immobalizer free.
