Swap into 99 civic

Ok, I just bought a 99 honda civic 4 door off my parents, it has 350000 k on it (we drive alot) it still runs strong, but i want something with a little more power and something that i can turbo, I was wondering what the best bang for the buck engine, and how much they should cost in toronto, and the shop names where i could get this done.

Thanks,

Dennis

You haven't been searching long enough. Use the searchbutton at the top right of the page.

b16b is the civic type r motor, i dont think u'd want to go with that because it is just too damn expensive. get a b16a2 (SIR) or a b18c (gsr). The gsr has the same hp output as b16b and likely a little mroe torque and it is cheaper as well.

b16b is definitely too expensive, but if u like really high-rpm motors thats the one.

I would recommend a B18b1 or a B20z swap with a GSR tranny, fairly inexpensive and are fun on to drive around with. if you plan on running a decent turbo setup the B18b1 is better than the B20z because the b20 has thin cylinder walls which can fail with higher hp FI setups.

BTW welcome to the board

you WANT a GSR engine... B18C1

you could settle for a B18B, just cuz you wanna turbo it anyways.
