suspension, weakest link

i just recently picked up a strut brace for my 92 lx sedan. within 2 hours of installing it, i snapped the top of my passenger side front coil. as it stands i am going to be replacing all 4 shocks and coils with the ones off a friends integra (he got it to 350hp and needs to buy better stuff now). i've also the direct intent to do a brake conversion, chaging the rear to the integra's disc brakes and if i can, puttin the tegs front discs on as well.

my question here, with these mods i intend to do, and with my first mod breakin something else within a few hours.. what would you guys say my next problem might be? is there something i should be looking at before i start changing parts from another car?

everything else on the car is stock, excepting the strut brace

who knows.. depends on the condition of the other parts.. I wouldn't think a strut bar would snap a spring but if it was a 15 year old rusted out one then maybe it was due for a change..

it's said there are two reasons to scrap a car. one: if it needs major subframe work (from rust) or two: if a coil spring breaks.

are you saying a coil spring broke?? what the hell were you doing? the strut brace is not the reason your coil broke.

either a. your car is super abused and has been beaten the crap out of, or... well there is no other reason you have a beater.

there is no reason a coil would have broke. its possible to have perches and mounts break, but never a coil. your car was probably a hardcore beater. scrap it and start over, cause there is probably a lot more broken under there then you think.

You know it is possible that the coil spring could have had a tiny hairline crack or some other defect in it from day one and over time the crack got bigger and then this guy got his hands on the car and decided to push it after all those years of wear and tear and SNAP there it goes. I know my car wasnt beaten on but it had alot of original parts because of this, and as soon as I got my hands on it they all started to fail because I push the car alot harder, hell ive blown 3 ball joints withing the last 8 months and now the 4th one is on its way out.
