suspension question

what does it take to make an eg front shock/spring set-up fit
into an ef. Is there even a difference and where would it be if it is!
Will the uppper section fit into the shock pillar and would the lower section fit into the ef forks! Anyone!

And the answer is..........?

it doesn't fit. you make it fit by buying the right part to begin with.

to answer your question, the top part MIGHT fit, I think it's the bottom part that WON'T fit. Either way, no - go

I am will be running eg suspension in my 91 CRX. To be exact koni yellows(off of my buddys 93 del sol) & eibach sportlines!
In order to make the parts fit you need eg front forks (width of the shock is bigger than an ef).
You need to use 92-95 LCAs in order for the rears to fit.

The EG shocks are larger in diameter then the EF ones so they are not going to fit in the fork without modification.

simple so long as you use the forks from the EG it'll all fit I have one EF with EG springs and shocks on it at the moment

Why not just buy shock/spring for the EF?They do make them.

exactly what i'm saying... you'll spend more trying to make used EG ones fit, than you would just buying new EF ones.

Swapping forks and rear LCAs... too much effort.

Well i was just wondering cuz eg parts are a hell of alot more
available than an ef these days. As for the rear lca's, i could swear
that they are identical because i have cross referenced aftermarket one's and they are the same. I've actually got a pair. Also alot of aftermarket parts seem to cater eg and up models way more than an ef. From what it sounds like, these aren't difficult mod's. Thanks for the input guys it's helped alot. Keep em'
coming.!

What suspension are you running if you dont mind me asking?
full coilover or spring shock setup?

imported_SMGFANDOTCOM 05-Feb-2005 12:12 AM

The rears will bolt up fine to any 89-91 civ/crx but you need to use the eg or teg front shock forks for the fronts like gatherer said

The 92-up civ & 90-up teg front shocks are taller and will kill your travel if you care anything about handling and you lower your car more then an inch but if not then don't worry about it.....unless they are some JDM shock or custom koni with a short body then you are good to go.
