gatherer, your car isn't lowered, is it? that's why you didn't cut the bump stops.

shlammed, bad lower balljoints and tie rods will make your car drive like crap too since the alignment is inconsistent. This is very unsafe.

ok ok here's a better question

on the illumina's on the rear shocks they have a sort of bushing like piece of rubber at the base of the piston (where the piston enters the shock body) should I have cut my bumpstops to account for this piecce of rubber? since on the stock shocks it's not there?

No gatherer, that's fine... by the time you're at full compression, you'll also be well on your way to being flipped over With as much travel as you have with stock springs, I don't think you'll ever see your bumpstops hit unless you nail a curb.

true but if the bump stop doesn't compress then I'm looking at an inch of suspension travel before riding on the bumpstop...

my buddy was just parking his car at lunch and his lower balljoint snapped or something on his del sol and his tire practically fell off killed the fender and bumper and pulled the axle right out and left tranny fluid everywhere. that just gave me the motivation to take my car in and fix everything.

yes, tie rods bolt on.

ball joints are pressed in... and yes, when they fail, the results are nasty. Just imagine that same thing happening at highway speed. NOT SAFE!

for upper ball joints you usually get the entire upper control arm

I have a similar set up on my EF. Eibach sportlines/KYB AGX's - on certain roads the ride is horrible, bouncy as hell! It could be the springs. H&R's ride much better. I've been meaning to change them.

lower ball joints you can buy separate and have them pressed in
