suspension anyone?
 

right now i have a SRR (7kg front and 5Kg rear) springs setup with KYB AGX adj. dampers. the setup is very firm and very responsive on roads/highway. I was thinking of changing my suspension to a higher spring rate with stiffer shocks.

The problem is that the roads i drive through at higher cornering speeds have BUMPS.

the thing i am concerned about is increasing the spring rate, because we all know that increased spring rate sacrifices traction on bumpy roads. therefore,

DOES ANYONE KNOW what is a good setup for the streets?

Keep the AGX and get slightly softer springs. H&R Sport for example.

I would recommend against going stiffer. Number one, those AGX won't handle a 7K spring well which is approx 400lb, it will handle it but its getting near its limit forsure. To give you an idea, Koni Yellows are said to handle 500-600 but then require a re-valve.

Also, 7K and up is ridiculously stiff on public roads. I had Buddy Club Racing Specs on a 1.6EL...biggest mistake I made suspension wise. I should have went Ground-Control/Koni Yellow with 350/300 rates.

As Michael said, a progressive spring like H&R sport and add a larger rear sway bar like 22mm ITR with subframe reinforcement. Still gives great handling, but without the harsh ride.

If your looking for more, i'd keep your current set-up and add the rear sway bar...you'll notice a huge improvement.

Having owned the Buddy clubs though, i'd recommend against anything near as stiff as they were 10K/6K.

If your unhappy with your current shocks, try Tokico Illumina or Koni Yellows.

yeah an overly stiff setup will cost you in the handling dep't on anything but the smoothest roads. it cost the Visteon team in Lemans 24 hour of 2003 when Audi took the top three spots. Something in the 300's range should be a lot better for the streets. to cut body roll due to softer springs, get a sway bar for the back.

I went with the Tein SS Coilovers and strut bars all around upper n lower in the trunk and just dampened it a little and my god... it feels as if im driving on air lol..... Smooth and handles amazing..

if ur sellin the struts sell em to me:D
