Supercharger vs. turbo?

Which one is better overall taking into consideration wear on engine, power gains, torque, and speed increase?

supercharger = more realible, easier to maintain, less power
turbo = infamous turbo lag, more power, less realible

it all depends on who you talk too...

personally if you manage the system right one is not better then the other...

however with a supercharger you have to look at the power it's removing from the system to turn the compressor and with a turbo it's the lag you have to look at.

if u cant keep your hands off the boost controller get a supercharger...that way its a PITA to change boost levels and that will save ya headaches

this applies only to the people that have wandering hands and like to fiddle with things that are better off left alone. Both systems have pros and cons, neither better nor worse than the other IMHO
