Suggestions on springs
 

i was debating on either coils or springs for my 93 eg, but now im pretty sure im goin with springs. i juss wanna know how low did u guys go on ur rides, i was thinkin of goin with 2 and a 1/4", and if i should lower the whole car 2 and a 1*4 all the way around, some are saying to lower the front more and some said that the back should be lowered more. thnks

i have HR springs 1.7 all round I believe
they dont screw the camber and tehy are fairly stiff for cornering yet decent for a motion sickless drive lol
they are cheap too!

generally with civics when you go lower than 2" you need a camber kit to get rid of excessive negative camber.
I would also highly recommend getting a good set of shocks. I'm using tokico illuminas on my 95 coupe, with tokico 1.8" drop spring daily driven, year round in hamilton, and i have no complaints at all about the ride quality.
However, i used to have a cheap set of coilover sleeves on stock shocks, dumped like 2.5", the ride was crap b/c it was bouncy as hell when the stock shocks blew (about 3 months after installing the coilovers) and it ate up the tires (camber wear) pretty quick too.
I wouldn't recommend to anyone getting coilover sleeves, especially if you plan on using them with stock shocks.
A full coilover is a little excessive IMO for a street car, when you can get the same out of a properly match spring/shock combo and you'll spend a few hundred dollars less.
But if you've got the cash and want the bling, go with a real coilover, simply for the adjustability (if its a winter driven car) if you want to go really low (anything over 2" IMO is really low).

back when i first had my old 95 hatch back in the day, i put coil over sleeves on stock shocks. rode like **** (then i bagged it :D)

i got a EK hatch now for my daily driver. i put stech tein springs on it on stock struts. rides pretty nice, 1.7" drop all around. it's lower than stock without being SLAMMED.

rides nice down the highway and in the city. but, i'd suggest new struts too. not major expensive ones. I will once my del sol build is finished (BODY IS FINALLY DONE! I GET IT THIS WEEK!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOT)

I've rode in zeemans car before, his suspension rides really really clean. cant go wrong.

I just put an eibach sportline kit on my stock struts/shocks and they are amazing.

my 10 year old shocks only lasted like 3-4 months before they blew, good ole coilover sleeves.
If you don't want a crazy drop, stock shocks will hold up for a bit, it also depends on how old they are and how much abuse they've seen.

thnx for the input guys...im gonna be goin for springs with a 2" drop and a camber kit for sure...and if i got some money left..maybe the shocks as well...haha...wheres a good place to get springs??

why dont you say screw the 2" drop and go with the H & R 1.7? this way you get a stiffer spring and dont need a camber kit. Stock struts will last longer too until you buy nice struts. PLus not buying a camber kit, you can save up for nice koni's or Tokico illuminias or something along those lines.
