Suggestions please :)

Okay this is the deal.

I am looking in getting a JDM D15B VTEC for 500 bucks CDN. Anyways my uncle who is assisting me says once I get the engine I should right away get someone to install it for me. I was telling can't I just get the motor and leave it at home for now and get someone to install it down the road. He says it's basically heavy and where am I gonna put it (no room anywhere except back yard...lol). I was planning on putting it somewhere so I can add the stuff in that I was pondering at getting like cam gears, camshaft, and a header so I was thinking maybe if the engine is at home with me I can install those while its here. But anyways, he wants to install it first which I can tell why.

I guess I should just install it and install the other stuff later.

Anyways I am looking for a mechanic to put the JDM D15B motor (and maybe EX/Si transmission at the same time) into my 1993 Honda Civic DX Hatchback. I was wondering how much of a range in price should I be looking at. My uncle is gonna bring me to a guy he knows to get a quote. I never really here of these mechanics but he says they are good because he associates with them.

Anyways, can you guys recommend shops in Toronto or surronding area that can do a motor swap? How much should I be looking for?

Where are you located?

I'm doing a similar swap in my 93 coupe....although its a straight z6 to z6 (because I have an Si I already have the VTEC wires).

You're car doesn't have the VTEC wires or the correct ECU...hopefully your swap comes with the correct ECU (P08...I think).

Anyways, I know someone in etobicoke who can install your motor for you.

Send a pm to atallaman.

For the install you're looking at about $500.

AS far as connecting v tec I think you can keep your stock ecu and use a rpm activator to engage v tec. I know this works with 4th gens.
